Bitcoin spent Friday midday sitting on the number that settles this market. The CF Benchmarks Bitcoin Real-Time Index — BRTI, the once-per-second price Kalshi uses — printed about $64,075 around noon Eastern, only tens of dollars above the $64,000 line. Traders price Above $64,000 near a coin flip at 55%, and leave Above $64,500 at 20%.
You’re betting on where Bitcoin sits at 5pm Eastern today, measured as the simple average of sixty one-second BRTI prints in the minute before that clock. Each line in the table is its own Yes/No bet — “did that 5pm average clear this dollar level?” — not a single race where only one winner gets paid. So if the 5pm average is $64,200, Above $64,000 and Above $63,500 can both pay on that same figure, while Above $64,500 does not.
| Your bet | Chance | Wins if… | $100 bet pays |
|---|---|---|---|
| Above $63,500 | 87% | the 5pm ET BRTI average is above $63,499.99 | ~$113 |
| Above $64,000 | 55% | the 5pm ET BRTI average is above $63,999.99 | ~$176 |
| Above $64,500 | 20% | the 5pm ET BRTI average is above $64,499.99 | ~$473 |
| Above $65,000 | 5% | the 5pm ET BRTI average is above $64,999.99 | ~$1,875 |
Other bets on the same 5pm average — Above $63,000 and lower — already trade near certainty, about 98% to 99%, so they are left out of the table.
Kalshi confirms the figure from CF Benchmarks’ Bitcoin Real-Time Index, using that sixty-second average before 5pm EDT — not a Coinbase last trade or a Google quote.
The case for Above $64,000. Settlement does not care about any exchange’s headline print — only the BRTI average in the final minute before 5pm EDT. At the noon Eastern retrieval, that index was about $64,075, roughly $75 above the $63,999.99 threshold that pays this side. That is a thin cushion when Bitcoin has already swung from near $66,000 earlier Friday toward the low $64,000s. The February 5, 2026 episode is the named price-level precedent here: Bitcoin slid to about $63,844 and broke under $64,000 during that selloff, so finishing the day under today’s line is a recent, dated event rather than an abstract risk. U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs also recorded $225.1 million in outflows on Thursday, ending a seven-day inflow streak, with BlackRock’s IBIT accounting for about $202.5 million of that — fresh selling pressure if the afternoon keeps leaning lower. That is the $64,000 case at 55%: the index is still barely above the line at midday, the session already proved a multi-thousand-dollar range, and the last clean $64,000 break on February 5, 2026 landed below this same level.
The case for Above $64,500. Clearing $64,500 from a midday BRTI near $64,075 needs about $425 of upside into the 5pm average, and traders price only a 20% chance. The upside case is the same Friday session that already reached nearly $66,000 hours earlier — if that bounce returns before settlement, $64,500 is inside the day’s established range rather than a fresh stretch. Bitcoin was still near $65,400 and up about 3% on the week even while large tech stocks sold off hard overnight, so the weekly backdrop was not a free-fall into this open. Getting there still has to clear ETF pressure after Thursday’s $225.1 million outflow and a spot market that spent midday hugging the lower $64,000s instead of rebuilding toward $65,000. That is the $64,500 case at 20%: the morning high showed the level was reachable today, and the afternoon price has so far refused to reclaim it.
A $100 Yes bet on Above $64,000 at 55% returns about $176 if the 5pm average clears.
Above $63,500 is treated as likely at 87%. Above $64,000 falls to 55%. Above $64,500 drops to 20%, and Above $65,000 to 5%. The widest gap is between $64,000 and $64,500 — that is where traders disagree most about how much bounce is left before 5pm.
At 55%, the money question is whether the 5pm average finishes a few dozen dollars above the midday BRTI near $64,075 or slips back under $64,000 before that average locks.
